Happy Validation Day
Valentine’s Day was two weeks ago, and I’m still looking at pictures of gifts people received from their loved ones that day. Love is beautiful and it’s very special when you get you to share it with your soulmate. But it’s also beautiful and special to love yourself.
Women are not encouraged enough to love themselves. We have commercials telling us how to lose weight, look younger, have larger breasts, reduce pores, have smoother hair, and the list goes on and on. We don’t have commercials explaining self-love or self-worth. The media fails to encourage us to seek validation from within. Validation day is my new Valentine’s Day.
As a single woman, I find it a beautiful journey to discover myself and mostly love myself. When you love yourself first, you’ll know how to love others. Loving yourself doesn’t mean you’re vain or a narcissist. It means you know your self- worth and you’ve accepted the good and the bad in you. I decided to put this post also after February 14th because one day of the year is not enough to express love. Love yourself everyday because everyday is your Validation Day!
Now some fashion talk!
I chose this red blazer because it reminded me of Valentine’s Day colors. Also, I love wearing red. It makes a bold statement and looks great on everyone. When I’m wearing bold colors I like to wear a plain black shirt under. I paired it with flare jeans because they make me feel confident with some sparkly heels.
